The original digital photographs were taken at an airshow in FORT MYERS FL., 2015. where the USAF THUNDERBIRDS were performing. The opportunity to capture the perfect shot was the first goal, create a new piece of art was the final task.
These magnificent jets literally blew us away with their sound, power and precision of their performance, hence the title of the artwork.
Storm clouds loomed in the background which enabled optimal shooting conditions for color, details, and contrast. Later, upon review of over 1000 images...THERE WAS THE PERFECT SHOT.
A clear vision to create a pattern with the USAF THUNDERBIRDS against a dramatic kingdom of clouds began. The technical achievement of the work includes building the sky to mimic the experience of flying in a jet as a pilot. The mathematical pattern of the jets with the tight proximity and jet streams always behind represent the magnitude of skill of each pilot.
The scale of the work emphasizes my intentions to honor all the brave military men and women who take to the skies to protect and serve the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
